Buddha’s looking for new players

The Buddha’s have been a force on the paintball field for quite some
time now. In the game of paintball there are always tough decisions
to be made. In December of last year 6 of our core players got an
opportunity of a lifetime to play for a new team and they took it.
Off course with no hard feelings, we wished them the best of luck
in the future.

So now the Buddha’s are still going strong and still playing at a high
level and we need some new players. We are looking for players that
have the energy and skills to play for our team in the year 2009.
You don’t have to be the best player but you have to have the willingness
to learn and to be a good team player.

Our plans are to play div 2 next year on the Millennium circuit. So if
you think you got what it takes and you want to join, contact
Mike v.d Meer of the Buddha’s or just leave a message right
here on our site.

Peace!

Max´s European Masters

And then it was time for the Max’s European Masters in Germany. After performing pretty well in France, the Buddha’s were of to Germany. Bier und Tieten! What a location, in the middle of the Nürburgring, inside the paddock. It was an incredible atmosphere with the sound of race cars and motorcycles all around. It was time for the second leg of the Millennium Series. The Buddha’s went to Germany with two teams, one playing Div2 M7 and the other playing M5. After a long drive to Germany everybody was set to kick some A$$ and shoot some paint. This time was different then France as the players actually arrived on the same day because there weren’t any planes to miss. With both teams arriving on Thursday, it was time to walk the fields and prepare for the Friday games. Buddha’s M7 had 6 games on Friday while the M5 team had to wait until Saturday for their games.
So it’s Friday and time to play for the M7 team. They got off to a very hot start taking the first two games by force, winning both of them with 5 live players each. Then came a rough spot were the Buddha’s went 1 – 3 in the last 4 games of the day to finish with a 3 – 3 record on Friday.

On Saturday both teams were playing, with the M7 team with 2 games left in the prelims, and the M5 with 5 prelim games. The M7 team was up first with their two remaining games. These games did not go as planned as the Buddha’s lost both games and ended up in 17th place in Div2, with the first 16 teams advancing to the second round, it was pretty hard to swallow but that’s the way it is, just play harder next time and don’t aim for 16th place but settle for nothing less than 1st! Then it was time for the Buddha M5 team to show what they were made off. The Buddha’s won its first game and won the second game with a flag pull but without the hang, so we lost a couple of points there. Throughout the last three games the Buddha’s went 1 – 2 qualifying in 30th place, but making it to the next round for another 5 games in the semi-finals. The semi-finals were played on Saturday and Sunday and the Buddha’s started out as hot as can be, winning the first three games, only to lose the last two games and failing to make the finals, finishing in 3rd place in their semi-final pool. It was disappointing to miss the finals, but the team gave it’s all and there’s always next time.
Once again we would like to give thanks to our sponsors Paintball Direct, Smart Parts, Tomahawk Paintballs, JT and BonusballKing for their support throughout the Millennium Series and other tournaments. Also a big thanks to Wim and Richard who supported us on site in Germany and to Mark (Cookie) for helping out our M5 team.

Buddha´s pick up a new sponsor deal for the 2007 season

The Buddha Bandits have been a force to be reckoned with for some time now. Well what has been a force has just gotten more dangerous. With the help of our new sponsors Paintball Direct, Smart Parts, Tomahawk, JT and BonusBallKing, the Buddha’s won’t only be a force but will do so shooting NXT Shockers with Freak Barrel Systems and powered by Micro Maxflo Regulators, wearing Smart Parts and JT gear along with some unique and awesome designs made by BonusBallKing and to put the cherry on top of the cake the Buddha’s will be shooting the best paint out there, Tomahawk Paint. So to wrap it up the Buddha’s have added some new players to the mix, have picked up a new sponsor deal and are planning on playing the most tournaments possible in 2007. Not just the Millennium series but also tourneys all around Europe.

If at the next event you can’t spot the Buddha Bandits jersey and gear from a mile away, GET SOME GLASSES! The Buddha’s would like to thank all our sponsors for giving us the opportunity to play with the best gear and paint and for having the confidence that we will not disappoint u guys. So again we would like to give thanks to our sponsors, Paintball Direct, Smart Parts, Tomahawk, JT and BonusBallKing!
U guys won’t regret it!!!

BPL X-Ball M7 Pro

After performing pretty well at the World Cup, we got an offer to play in the BPL X-ball tournament in Belgium. So the Buddha’s assembled a team and off we were on a 3 hour drive to Belgium. Our day started at 2:00 AM Sunday morning. We arrived at the field around 7 o’clock. We immediately started to walk the field. The setup looked very professional and the field setup was challenging. They had an electronic scoreboard that included a buzzer and it reminded us of the PSP tournaments back in the States. After a long and grueling wait, we were finally up. Our first match was against Blackout (Semi Pro) who we were looking forward to play against. We started off by taking the first game, but they came back and evened it up. We went back and forth throughout the match but we wound up losing the match because of some “questionable” calls from the refs. It can happen but we clearly got robbed. The final score was 3-2 in favor of team Blackout. Our second match was against One Shot. From the start we dominated the match and won it with a final score of 4-1. We did not give them a chance to get into their game because we where determined to win that match.

We were really satisfied with the way we played all day. We are looking forward to the 2nd leg and hopefully the marshals will not give us such a hard time.

Kicking off the 2007 season at The World Cup in Toulouse

New year, some new players, same old Buddha spirit. Bier!! Tieten!! For sure.

There ain’t no better way to kick off the 2007 Millennium series, with the first tournament of the year, The World Cup in Toulouse. Going with two teams, Buddha Bandits playing M7 and Buddha M5, the total amount of players that went to France was 13. After some “flight problems” for a couple of Buddha players everybody was in France on Friday ready to go to battle on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday and Sunday it was time for the M7 and M5 team to show what they’re made off. After I.D. cards were picked up it was time to get ready to shoot some nice Tomahawk paint. Buddha M7 played a total of 8 games in the prelims and managed 4 wins. With these 4 wins the Buddha’s made it to Quarterfinals. More on that later.
Moving along to the Buddha M5, they had 5 total games to play in the prelims and it went really well. Buddha M5 won a total of 4 games in the prelims and qualified in 4th place. So it was off to the quarter finals for both Buddha Bandit teams, it doesn’t get better than that.

On Monday it was Finals day, and it’s always a good thing when your playing on Monday, except for the people that have to make a 5 o’clock flight, but everybody was excited and off we went. Buddha M7 had a total of 3 games to play and Buddha M5 had 5. The finals did not go as planned as the Buddha M7 won 1 game and lost 2 and failed to make it to the finals. For the Buddha M5 it wasn’t much different, going 1 – 4 in the quarter-finals. So both Buddha teams were eliminated in the Quarters. Overall it could and WILL be better, but we are happy with our performances, and look out Germany cause the Buddha’s will be back and will be kicking A$$ in Germany, May 18th – 20th. Count on that!

We would like to give a lot of thanks to all our sponsors, without you guys this would not have been possible. First of all a big thanks to Paintball Direct for helping us out, and also a big thanks to Wim and Richard who supported us on site in Toulouse. Also a big thanks to Niels en Jacob for helping out our M5 team. Also a big thank you goes out to Tomahawk Paintballs, for the awesome paint, to Smart Parts for the awesome gear and markers and a thanks to JT and BonusballKING for helping us play in style!

The World Cup in Toulouse was the first tournament of the year but certainly not the last. Watch out paintball world here come the BUDDHA’s! And also watch out McDonalds and Dominos cause we are gonna need food supply for all the Millennium tournaments. Can you say: “I would like pepperoni pizza” in German and French? Stay tuned!

BB 2nd overall at PDC

Finishing a disappointing fourth place at the last leg of the Paintball-Direct Cup, the Buddha Bandits have ranked 2nd overall.

1st place at Paintball Direct Cup Leg 2

The 2nd Eindhoven classic (organised by Paintball Direct) returned today, and with a vengeance! We won all the games we played (1st game was out of time but we were up in bodycount), taking us straight to the trophy. Big ups to all teams, organisation and marshalls!

No bacon to bring home from Madrid

We went into Madrid with the feeling to step up our game compared to Bitburg this year. It ain’t easy if you’re playing against the top 6 in your division, but it made for some very interesting games where we didn’t use the afterburners all the time (as we usually do). Rather, our plan was to let our guns do the talking, which made each and every game a hard-fought brawl. The results were disappointing (20th), but our change of pace allowed us to simply fight a bit better in 7-man and we’ll be taking that with us to London. BIG thanks to DraXxuS for taking care of us!!

2nd at Paintball-Direct Cup

We went into this great tournament with no expectations in our heads, but it turned out to be above them. Winning all but one round-robin game, we ended up 2nd. We’re pleased with the result and the tournament was a great success for the Paintball-Direct crew.
